Titan was intended to provide internet to remote areas
Google has closed down its Titan drone project. Originally, the project was designed to help provide internet to remote places around the world which struggle with an online connection. However, it was announced recently that the project had shut down in the first half of 2016 after a number of failed tests. Google will continue with its Project Loon, which is a similar idea to provide internet via the use of hot air balloons. Meanwhile, Facebook is continuing its own internet drone project, despite problems of its own which include an in-flight explosion and subsequent safety investigations.
